Another Wreath

So here is my latest attempt at being crafty. I am really happy with the way it turned out, hopefully it will bring a touch of  summer to the front door. I am very happy with the way the bow turned out. I told you I wasn't crafty as something as easy as a bow always stumped me, hopefully I will be able to replicate the bow success with other material.

Tackling the Junk Drawer

So today I tackled the junk drawer in the kitchen. I was tired of the way the drawer made me feel when I opened it and wanted the ability to find stuff quickly.  It wasn't really that bad, and no I don't have a picture to prove that. as I was too excited to get started and just forgot.

So above is a picture of all the stuff that was in the drawer including all the mismatched containers I had been trying to make work.

Here is the drawer now. Opening the drawer now makes me happy. The writing instrument holder is obviously a silverware tray, but it worked well for this purpose. Now instead of digging for a pencil, pen, or marker they are clearly marked.

The bottom right container has tape, matches and a glue stick. Located in the back are the flashlights we need handy for whatever might come up.

The only thing I am not 100% sure about is the placement of my coupon binder. I will continue to look for a place that might be more reasonable for it.

Finished Spring Wreath

So I finished the wreath I was working on. I am pretty happy with the way it turned out since I am lacking in the craftiness department. I was hoping that the flowers would entice Mother Nature for spring, but she only gave us snow. Oh well! I think it will look great on the door and most of all it was fun to make! Will make another wreath in the near future.

I think my next project will be a jewelry holder, mainly for necklaces that will hang on the wall in the closet. Gotta start looking for inspiration. Pinterest here I come! :)

New light for bedroom

I am so excited!!! I came across a chandelier awhile ago while looking through the Cost Plus World Market website. I love this place, if you have never been I highly recommend experiencing it. Anyway, back to the chandelier. When Jason and I bought our house I mentioned getting a chandelier for our bedroom and he liked or at least agreed with that idea. So I have been on the search for a light ever since. I have come across a couple that I really liked, but they weren't big enough or they were way more than I wanted to spend.  Then I come across this beauty.

Today, World Market had this awesome coupon. 49% off a regular price item. So I went searching for my light again and of course with a coupon like that I just had to order it. Chandelier for under $95, SCORE!!!! I can't wait to get it and hopefully it will work out just like I hope.

Amazing Goal Sheets

So while browsing Pinterest one night I came across this awesome goal sheet. It is a goal sheet for your Home!!!!! I mean seriously, why wasn't this thought of sooner. I of course had to print one off right away and will be filling it out this weekend. I know it is a bit into the new year, but I still have 11 months to check things off of this awesome list. Thank you to the Inspired room for such an awesome form.

I also found this other awesome goal sheet for personal goals. I love the way it is laid out and it includes things that I never thought of but now that I see them was like 'duh'.  I love her list of things that helped her set and track her goals. Thank you Mercy Ink for your wonderful insight.

Busy MLK weekend.

More Organizing!!!!!

So this weekend I tackled the master closet, it was something I had tackled last fall but still wasn't completely happy with. So with some shifting around of clothing and more baskets, I actually feel like I am using the all of the closet now. I didn't take any before pictures but here are the after. One thing I did notice is I have gotten rid of a lot of clothes and am not doing so great on restocking, so gotta start getting some spring clothes.

Now actually using the cubbies in the cedar part of the closet.

I even did labels

Looking from the door down. Disregard the laundry basket and pile of clothes (it was laundry day).
The laundry baskets will now sit in the location under the shoe cubbies.

My new sweater organizer.

I also worked on 2 other little projects. One was creating a memory box for my "baby" Fergus who we had to put down in August. He was diagnosed with Lymphoma and was going downhill rather rapidly. I miss him so much every day. We got some wonderful cards and the vet did a paw print, so along with his collar I did this. It isn't the best picture, but loved the way it turned out. Love ya Fergus!!!!

I also decided to frame some of the antique handbags I received from my grandmother. The picture below is just 2 of the 3 that I have. I have to get another frame for the smaller purse. And I ordered another purse and will also put it in its own frame so on the wall I will have a grouping of 3. Can't wait to see them on the wall and out of the dresser.

Attempt at craftiness

So I am trying my hand at being crafty. Now this is a stretch for me as I have no crafty genes in my body at all. But I have been inspired by things I have pinned on Pinterest and figured it was finally time to start trying my hand at making some of those things. Below is my current project. The flowers aren't secured right now and I still have an initial I want to paint and put on the wreath somehow. But so far I am really happy. I have a couple of more flowers I want to make to wrap along the side of the wreath. Excuse the messiness of the picture, it was taken when I should have been in bed. This wreath makes me want spring to arrive so much more!
My attempt at being crafty-wreath for the front door

My favorite flowers are the pink and blue looking "brains". I think they could be a version of a peony. I also really like the purple and blue flowers that have the petals. My very first felt flower was the white rose and I love the way it turned out. I have a dark purple rose to make that is hopefully similar to the white one, that will go along the side of the wreath so the flowers kind of wrap around the edge.
